Keep Charlevoix Beautiful does more to beautify this community than plant petunias. They are concerned about storm water runoff, and want to educate the public by reinforcing that whatever goes into the storm sewer drains ends up in our beautiful lakes. By marking the drains with decals to discourage any pollutants entering our area lakes, they continued with a project that was initiated by the Charlevoix Conservation District and Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council in the Fall of 2005. Keep Charlevoix Beautiful marked approximately eighty drains in July, and will annually monitor the condition of the decals to ensure they retain their durability and effectiveness. Keep Charlevoix Beautiful is appreciative of the support they have received from Charlevoix City Council as well as the City of Charlevoix's Streets Department.
